A Moral Dilema...

Temple

New member
I have this dog that I love with all my heart. She has non healing sores in her leg that we have been dealing with for almost 8 months. I was to the point of sharing my ox cycle with her but my husband told me to go talk to the vet
So I go out the and give him a bit of a BS story about internet search yada yada , anabolic steroid? yada yada anything like that for dogs? yada yada

"Yeah, there is.... EQ and Winsterol V - I should have thought of that" Let me see what I've got...

"Well, I'm out of the winsterol cause they took it off the market cause all the bodybuilders were abusing it but I got the EQ"

goes to back room - loads me up a cc of EQ and hands it to me.
Says if it helps but I need more to come back in three weeks and he'll give me some more.

I love my dog...I love my dog...I love my dog...

Is it a cost issue? Is the amount the vet charging you for the EQ significantly below what a source would charge?

Is it an availability issue? Do you not have EQ available to you?

VDL

LOL VD - yeah I could get it from my source - could have shared my ox cycle with her but I'm betting what I got from my vet is pretty cheap.

What amused the hell out of me was that I could stroll my happy butt down to the vets office (these guys are primarily horses and cattle) and walk out with a dart full of EQ aaaaand be told to come back for more if I needed it. Granted they have seen the dogs legs so they know I'm not just jockeying for AAS.

I am going to give it to the dog BTW.

A relatively novel way to aquire some gear would be to go the pound and acquire several dogs in a similar condition, then return the dogs after going to see the Vet.

Temple, I see no moral dilemma, as long as you give your dog as much as the vet prescribed. It would only be an issue if you stole it from your poor limping puppy. But you're not, so lucky you!

I am going to give it to the dog but if it were winny I think we would have done a some for you - more for me LOL

Most Definetly !!!!! I need to go find me a gimped up dog :D

what i was thinking was if your dog heals up with the prescribed dose then you could go back for more and get some for you...

Please DO NOT take advantange of these animals.

Debu - ease up - we are just joking. I was actually going to share MY ox cycle with her and that stuff is pricey, still may if the EQ doesn't do what I want it to do.

She is moving noticeably better today, more active which the vet said would happen.

LMAO !!!! :splat:

 I'm sorry, I can't tell when people are joking or serious. I'm a total animal advocate...I'm SOOOO glad there are folks like you that would go the extra length to help heal her! You're an

Ann... LMAO..

Temple... what kind of vet just gives you a syringe full of EQ and lets you walk out with it. he just gave you one syringe and that was it??? sisnt tell you how much to give or how often??? just said come back if you need more??? Last I heard winstrol was not off the market either:confused: vets are LOADED with it.Im not sure but I know winstrol is still around where I am. what have they tried giving to your dog for the sores?? is it from an allergy?? fungal?

give me the run down.... I MAY just be able to suggest something for the poor little pooch.

KB - he said to give it all to her. He assumed that if I had any questions that I woud ask and he was tired, had been up all night doing c-sections. To understand how this works here you have to understand where I live. I have seen the vet and the retired pharmacist both stitching PEOPLE up when the injury isn't so bad. We all have a cupboard full of vaccine and one of the first thing every child learns is that when you vaccinate for erysiplus (sp) you have to be very careful because Mrs. so and so got stuck with an erysip needle 20 years ago and died from it.
Are you getting the picture????

Now for the dog - she is 13 years old and insists on laying on the hardest surface she can find. Last summer the joints on her front legs became swollen which we treated with antibiotics and they drained and formed sores that would not heal. We have been treating since that time with Animax ointment and wraps plus amoxicillin. They would improve only to get bad again. We are now using the EQ/animax/wraps plus tetracycline or erythromiacin - can't remember which it is. Any suggestion you have would be appreciated. Also have her on Rymadil for arthritis.

We are down to the last ditch effort with this - I love her to much to watch her be miserable. I am glad my husband is strong enough to do what needs to be done if the time comes because I couldn't.

I had a Doberman who started to get sores on her legs but she would keep licking them which kept irrirtating them. DOes she do that?

You could always take it and then have a blood transfusion given to your dog. That way you could both reap the benefits.

Rebangade them and then get that cone head deal from the vets, mine had that after her ears and tail were clipped so she could not disturb it.

We tried that - she is like dealing with a crabby elderly woman. I thought she was going to lose her mind so I finally took it off of her. I think we are on the right track here. I am not putting so much bandaging on - just a single wrap over a special bandaid and she isn't bothering it. The EQ is obviously helping but we all knew that it would. We are seeing the edges of the sores come in a bit, a drying of the wound itself and it is kind of bubbling up in the middle. We are making progress. Think she will need another shot just to make sure.

No Shit Spats - when I was considering sharing MY gear with her I was actually afraid that I might accidentally kill her and considered asking about it on the anabolics board at AF but figured nobody would believe that it was a serious question.

I know a couple guys that are/have shooting up their dogs for size...I TOTALLY disagree, hopefully they'll share the needles and get rabbies or something....but I think TEMP is doing the right thing by helping hers heal. Bless you!
