A Little Reminder to us all...

Elite,

A little message from the Hammer;

(1)It doesn't matter how much you lift.
(2)It doesn't matter how fast you lift it.
(3)It doesn't matter who is watching you lift it.
(4)It doesn't matter how much "gear" you use.

-----------------------BECAUSE-------------------------

(1) Nutrition & taking care of yourself is the utmost priority.
(2) Fundamentals of strict form rule your longevity in bodyduilding.
(3) Rest

----------------------------SO-----------------------------

The next time your in the gym, remember why YOU are there. The personal benefits of your exercise and reasons why you NEED it.

Beautiful words man.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

The one that I can see very clearly is
(2) Fundamentals of strict form rule your longevity in bodyduilding.
I messed my shoulder up badly by doing loads of stupid crap... I feel blessed that it has recovered enough to allow me to do all the things I was capable of before... Anybody who is new to the gym should FOLLOW THESE RULES!!!! Hell, anybody who is a veteran should too

Dr,

Thank you for your post. I know it will help a lot of people. I am happy to hear that you have been blessed with recovery. You deserve it!

BBJ,

Thank you. Posting this meant a lot to me. It came straight from my heart. It feels warm to know that yet another feels it too.

This is a very good post Hammer. I think its worthy of being stuck for a while.

Unfortunately..... for me personally, numbers 1 and 2 dominate my priorities and therefore overshadow the second list which should be more important. I'm always there for the moment, for that one bigass lift. Once my hands grasp that bar, common sense and logic are out the window. I'm only thinking of getting the weight up right then, not how my body will be 5 years from now. I know this is foolish, but that's why I'm there. I don't train or eat to be healthy. I train and eat to be strong and big. Hey...maybe I'll figure it out when I'm sitting in my wheelchair unable to whipe my own ass.

I suppose I am a good lesson for others, considering I have 2 crushed lower discs, a blown out knee, a bad rotator, a fucked up right elbow, and all kind of joint pain at 27.:D

Anyway, everyone should read Hammer's post and say "Ah, thats a great post", then read about me, and say "what an idiot." Its a nice contrast for understanding:)

Hammer, excellent post. I've been stalling like a lazy pig lately as you know, but I'll be back in the swing of things soon enough.

Thai Box, even though you gave me and hammer both negative karma a while back, we ain't so bad are we?

Happy Holidays to all!!!

T,

Thank you. I don't think anyone with intelligence would say that "your an idiot". You have enough athletic life experience enough to know what is right and wrong. If the people after you do not follow the presedence you have set for them, they are the idiots.

Happy Thanxgiving to you brother and thanx again for the support. Have a Guiness on me;

:drink2:

Damn PF, I remember that I did, but I don't remember why. I think I've given out negative Karma maybe 5 times tops since the system started. Green shit your way to even it out.

Hammer, I'll gladly accept the brew, thanks bro.

Happy carb-up day to you both

No one knows how much you can lift by looking at you and Life is what happens outside of the gym-valerie

Thank you for posting Valerie. I don't belive we have met. Hammer meet Valerie. Valerie meet Hammer. lol. :D
Your absolutely correct about "no one knows how much you can lift by looking @ you".

"Life is what happens outside of the gym". Yes and no. The time I have in the gym is the most sacred moment in my day, any day. I get chills listening to the clang of the weights and the smell of the steel. Nothing compares to the way I feel when I am preparing to work out, working out, and eating after my workouts. I live for my own personal fitness and I would rather die than not ever be able to train. I need that feeling, that rush of personal fullfilment.

What up man? Going for 30 huh. That would be the opposite of me during senior year when I gained 30 pounds in 30 days overeating. Remember that? lol. :D
Good to see you back in the saddle where you belong. Bout' time you came back. I'll hit up your cell. :fro:
