hi all. i am new here but not new to working out.. I would say i was series working out 2 yrs ago took some time off to get tattooed then went back and then took time off to get tattooed again.. i gained 20 lbs of muscle but right now its kinda soft..

so i was thinking of doing the 5x5 routine since it sounds good.. i like the routine.. but my question is should i hold off a bit since i have no clue what my 1rm is i kinda can guess but most likely i would be wrong.. any suggestions would greatly appreciated.. thx again

why dont you start off with the 3x5 instead until you are back in the game with muscle memory and everything. take a good guess and work yourself back and once you hit the wall you proceed with the intermediate 5x5...

This is a descent suggestion. You could also just start up on the 5x5 routine and do mostly the same lifts while you build your strength back up a little, only go light with higher reps. So it's not really the 5x5 at all - just the same execises. :)

thats also a good suggestion.. i worked out last night and did the 3x5 but a tad lighter since its been longer then 3 months since last time in. thx again for your input

agreed. coming back with light weight and higher reps is key to avoid injury and bad recovery days
