This worker visited the home to inspect and assess compliance with 402 Licensing Standards. The FP, her daughter, and the client were home at the time of the visit. Worker completed a walk through of the home. Worker turned down the hot water heater setting as temps were over 115 degrees(132, 139). The client in the home is 2 years old. No other observable hazards noted. Worker and FP discussed updating pet vaccinations before 8/30/04. FP signed a CFS 688 Vehicle Insurance Certification and also submitted Fire Drill Logs in accordance with 402.8. See 597-c dated 7/14/04 for other rules evaluated during this visit.

Now you see why I spend so much time on EF.

Maybe they have anti-scolding faucets. Then you could have left the damn hot water heater the way it was. Don`t touch my hot water heater!

Don`t touch it!

LOL. People dont usually mind. I mean, no reason to have water that gets as hot as 140 - 150 degrees. ALso, I tell them that I have to turn it down when Im there, but what they do to it when I leave I will never know

Right after I left, the "client" got his ass whooped by the FP and her daughter for screwing with the water heater and then got bit by the rabid dog..

Do you use your own car?

A good friend of mine took the state to court after her foster child died under the Parent`s care. The parent`s did`nt know how to take care of the (special needs) child and they were given custody anyway after saying they could`nt do it and she (my friend) should keep her.. The baby died two weeks or so later.

She lost the case. They (the state) lied, cheated, stole... and won.

Yeah Off Topic.. Oh well.

Do you sometimes feel like crying when you leave certain conditions?

I don`t mean Lumberg, but when you leave a really bad house with horrible conditions for the child?

I'd be taking that kid with me..

Do you yell at the people sometimes? Like sorta berate them because you`re the "authority" and they`ll listen because they`re scared of you... and you`re big and muscley?

Its my job to ensure that the child is living in appropriate conditions.

I'd say you've got the most important job of anyone here.

I understand but I`m sure you`ve left some horrible conditons BUT STILL met the standards and guidelines they give. That`s what I meant.

I`m just going by what my friend used to tell me about other foster homes and how their house compared to them. I think they had about 40 kids during the whole stretch. They stopped after that death I posted about. They "gave up" because of the way the system was handling things.

no. The standards and guidelines do not allow for "horrible conditions". AT least not in my interpretation of them.

I keep my hot water heater turned up to the max. It costs more in utilities, but I'd rather have the option of the super hot water when I want it. It lasts longer too because you can use a small ration of hot water to cold water in the shower.

I`m not trying to be difficult. lol Just one more thing... The inspectors that used to come to my friends house WAITED for her house to use the bathroom. They said it was "the only clean enough bathroom to use while going to their rounds", or whatever. I`m just trying to give an example of the things that could be seen or experienced.

Another example I`ll use is an automobile. We know not all cars are the same, some are new and shiney, some are old and rusty looking, maybe even backfire once in a while or have a hard time starting etc... but both cars PASS a State Inspection when tested. There are degrees of "acceptable" things.

Any more of my posts and ALL my quotes in your sig are gone... damn...lol

I could never do what you do day in day out. It takes a truly special person like you Smurfy to do that. :)
