Honestly, I was scared to go to college and fuck up my scholarship (one serious injury or fuck-up=no scholarship)....I was a BIG partier in HS. I've calmed down some. I basically wanted a challenge, mature a little, and to have money for college to fall back on in case anything happened. I kinda regret not going str8 out of HS, but the Marines have been a good experience....and I know I'll be ready when I get out.

So Buck you had a scholarship to college to play football and didn't take it??? That just doesnt quite make sense to me. You wanted a challenge? You don't think playing college football is a challenge? What makes you think that if you get hurt you lose your scholarship ... ever heard the term redshirt?? And hell with your grades that you posted a while back you probably could have held on to the scholarship forever since they love to have high academic marks from guys to raise the curve.

Don't know too many guys that go to college and play football as a 22 yr old. And weren't you thinking of re-enlisting.

Yeap, I had several scholarship offers. I wasn't ready to be on my own I guess...plus, I enlisted the middle of my senior year....I was so confused about which college to go to, and the Marine recruiter promised this and that....stupid me. I was pondering w/ the idea of re-enlisting....but I ain't gonna. I have a year left. I'm READY to play some ball and go to school.

Well...I'm 6'2" and down to about 285 right now. I use gear because I wish to become stronger...not to look good for anyone. I never used gear till I weighed close to 280...or even more.

When you get to the point to where you are using gear to look good for the women...then you need to re-evaluate whom you are. I have never lifted to look more attractive to the opposite sex...that's just not a reality. If a woman likes me for my body...then I guess that's ok...but the feeling will not mean much to me. In fact...most women where I live do not like the way that I look...but that's ok...that means that I'm getting closer to where I want to be. When someone tells me..."you're too big", then that's fine...it's just my body...I can live with that kind of put down.

I've learned that no matter how much you train, use gear, or make the most of your genetics...if you do not have a true heart, then you have nothing. If a woman can not take the time and the effort to see my heart over my body...then why waste my time.

Just my 2 cents...and sorry to go off on a rant...but I'm on vacation...what else can I do:)

Bucky....everyone makes their own decisions. I think you made a good one. If you felt you need the dicipline you probably did. When you do come down and play for Miami I'll be at every game:) (with the sideline tickets you hook me up with of course)

Well Buck you might have made history then. I can't ever remember anyone being all-state in any sport..getting "several" scholarships and not going to college.......especially when they are paying for it. Do you think you are going to get a scholarship now? I mean it would be great if you do but I can't see any college coaches taking a chance on someone that hasn't been playing organized ball for 4 years.

You played in HS ball in TX right?
