I had Linear IGA, a skin disorder that they shot me up with cortisone or fed me toxic Dapsone(same medication used for lepers or brown recluse bites). One cycle of steroids cured me. How's that for something to put in your paper. I've been doing personal research for a few years with a fellow doctor and will be publishing the findings in a few years, but compare the side-effects of anabolic androgenic steroids to Corticosteroids and you will find plenty to add.
I've watched AAS cure accute asthma, Dermatitis herpetiformis(closely related to Linear IGA), cure Iritis(a major eye problem involving the iris, a muscle), turn an aching woman with arthritis into a mobile and happy lady able to once again clean her dishes and more. I've also seen people on corticosteroids, their joints gone, the muscles aching without the drug, their immune system shot.
There are so many reasons to use AAS in the medical field that I can't list them all here. Problem is, sports and money, people and their inability to control themselves(in terms of stopping for long enough times between cycles) as well as those people who give roid rage the name it now has. These people were starting fights when someone looked at them wrong before taking any AAS. If you're a hot-head and you add strength and androgens, you're going to pop. If you're under control and respect the fact that you might be a bit more short tempered, I've never seen a problem.
Thank god someone is writing a paper that might actually give AAS a look other than drugs for muscle-heads who smash their head through brick walls.
Women and men are able to change their nose, body, and even sexual organs, but if you want to have some nice biceps(after working out without AAS with a passion,) you are considered no better than a junkie.
Hope this helps and keep up your research. It is one of the more interesting things to research.
Best wishes and take care.
