A Diet concept on or off...........

Does anyone subscribe by the theory when they are on (or off) and trying to put on mass, where they are completely strict M-F, then Friday eve - SUnday they let lose a little, go out to eat each night for a good burger or meal, etc.? How does it work for you? Might be a horribly dumb question, but I'm just getting my feet wet when it comes to bulking up, i.e. trying to get over this mental disorder. :verygood:
 
Man go out and enjoy yourself. you work so hard to build the monster, why not let the monster out of the cage and have a little fun eating burgers and pizza.

Eat clean for clean gains, something healthy it at almost every resturant these days. Do your reasearch ahead of time by looking at the resturants nutritional guides. This is a lifestyle, get used to it.

Why not go out for a good cheat dinner 1or 2 times on the weekend, unless you are in the final weeks of training for some competition, why not enjoy your life. I also think if have naturally low bf, why not eat everything and anything you can get your hands on, up until the point you start gaining fat.
 
I do this. I'll eat clean during the week and on weekends I'll eat whatever I feel like. Works well for me. Of course this isn't when I'm getting ready for a show. I know that Chad Nichols has Melvin Anthony do something similar. I've been doing it for years though, I didn't get it from him. Maybe he got it from me... ;)
 
Thanks Mak - that]'s what I was looking for..............what might you weekend entail? Im sure it's not crazy, but a few meals? Wine?

Well right now I'm dieting to stay lean before my next bulking cycle. So I'll diet from Monday to Friday night, or Saturday morning, depending on how I feel, and then it's on! It's been about 7 weeks since my show so I keep it under control now,. So I'll usually get up on Saturday and eat either cereal, waffles, or doughnuts, then I'll eat a clean meal. Then it's usually Del Taco or Taco Bell. Then another clean meal. Then I'll go out to eat with my friends before we go out and party! ;)

On Sunday it's more controlled. I'll usually just eat dinner somewhere and occassionally breakfast too.

By Monday morning I'll have gained anywhere from 15-25 lbs. of water, depending on the binge, and then it's all gone by Wed morning. Crazy huh? It keeps me sane and lean. It also helps with Monday and Tuesday's workouts as my glycogen levels are full and my strength is high.

I have done this myself and do not think it is worth it to be honest. Apart from the excessive bloat from water retention, it just makes you feel like crap 4-5 hours later. Not good idea if you ask me buddie.

Its dinner or a few extra meals bro....it's not an all out cheat....It's a nice pasta dish with some shrimp or a 12" from subway......maybe some wine, just stuff you would stay away from during the week.........how can this be harmful? A huge porterhouse or some sushi rolls (like 40 pieces) would be benefitial, no?
 
yup...just eat a few GOOD/LARGE meals. eat a big steak with a couple of baked potatoes, garlic bread, the works, but, avoid junk food...it's truly empty cals., waste of time in my opinion.

Its a very good idea....if you feel like going out for a meal, do it especially if you're bulking..enjoy this time cuz it ain't fun to cut
 
Eating clean when bulking doesn't work for everyone. I can't eat enough clean food to gain weight. Enjoy your life. Your livelihood is most likely not bodybuilding, eating out a few times when bulking is fine.

Dude, even pros cheat. Get off your highhorse and come back to reality. Cheating occasionally is enjoyable and extremely good on the psyche. No one's saying to live off burgers and pizza, but if you want some on a Friday or Saturday night, go for it. One day isn't going to turn you into a huge mess.
