been powerlifting for a while now. seems like i have to take a 2 or so week break from it about every 6 weeks and just do light weight. My wrist and elbows just cant seem to take it anymore than that. This seem about right for everyone else?

You are your own best judge...if things are hurting then your body is telling you something...sounds like you are listening, some people dont and it leads to overtraining or injury. Sometimes it's even good to take time off from lifting totally. You will be surprised how strong you will be with fresh muscle fiber. You may even post some PR's...good luck and happy lifting...

I am past the point of having sore joints and stuff but my problem now is my CNS gets fried from doing max effort shit with heavy ass weight for weeks on end. I try to have a heavy week then a light week which seems to work pretty good. On my light week i just do bodybuilding stuff or up the reps and drop the weight.

yeah man, i always feel better and stronger when im back from just the 2 weeks. think mite just do cardio and abs for a week. let everything heal up good.

+1 bro, Iv been doing 1 work set of deads, not to failure, then 2 work sets of RDL to 8 reps. Done that once a week, anymore and CNS is fryed and my weight just sticks...

Exept I never do a "light week" I just do heavy lifting them assist it with some moderate (8-12rep) compounds which I enjoy like seated cable row, assisted wide grip chins, incline db bench etc
