A brave Win for the Gun Industry

RyanH said:
[BWe all know that if a product is unsafe, then it's unsafe. Guns are unsafe, so why shouldn't a manufacturer be held liable for manufacturing an unsafe item whtether it's guns or a faulty blowdryer.

Negligence is negligence and usually actionable under the law. This is a stupid decision. Surely, not all states will follow its faulty logic. [/B]

So by your logic if a person crashes their Corvette while traveling at high speeds and kills innocent people then Chevrolet is liable because they market a car that is designed to go fast and is therefore unsafe. So the vehicle manufacturers are now liable for accidents involving their vehicles. Can you even imagine how far this could go? Manufacturers should not be liable when their product is used improperly.

I can't remember which european country, I think it's Switzerland that doesn't have an army but is done miltia wise(excuse my un-educated lay terms). IN like all homes they have automatic weapons. Guess how much they actually get used?

I believe there is such a thing as responsible gun ownership.

And if you look at the countries around the world where the people are the most repressed, well the citizens with the exception of the rebel groups don't have access nor have guns. Hence they get their asses kicked around by the gov't/dictatorship. I remember reading that Hitler had all guns removed from citezens homes too back in the day.

Think about it this way. If every chinese citizen had a gun in their home, would they be putting up with the shit from the gov't/dictatorship they have now.

Most crimes where guns are used are done with illegal guns not legally owned guns.

I don't own a gun, but my belief is this: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
