i read this book on my flight today and was pretty impressed with some of the things he had to say. it's basically a Q&A through e-mail, radio, interview, etc. all about 9/11. he flat out says that the US is the most terrostic state in the world. it was published in oct. of last year and he predicts what will happen if we go to war with al qaeda and most of it is true. (america in a state of fear, US pointing fingers, etc.) he goes on to talk about how 9/11 was nothing compared to the US' ordeal bombing 1/2 Sudan's pharmaceutical companies leaving thousands to die from diseases. I'll post some excerpts in the morning.

I was pretty groggy when i was reading it so correct me if i was wrong with any of htis.

there's another book coming out called Silencing Political Dissent by Nancy Chang with the foreward by Howard Zinn.

Here's an excerpt from that one that on the advertisement for the book-

"In a crude exploitation of the anguish and concern over the terrorist atrocities of sep.11, the bush administration has sought to implement favored programs that have no realation to terrorism and would be sure to arouse protest if it could not cynically wield the weapon of 'patriotism' to silence opposition. that includes steps to strengthen unaccountable executive power and curb independent thought and expression. chang's study expertly reviews these threats, which should be understood and resisted by those who value their freedom and democratic rights."

Chomsky is a genius and if anyone could answer the questions you read, it'd be him.

YUP! I had a whole course in University based on Chomsky! The guy just brings a whole different view and angle to every political topic.

didn't he also support the Khmer Rouge?

Just remember that as smart as he is, he has his own biases too. Read him, appreciate his points, but form your own opinions.
