5x5 shoulder question..

im doing the 5x5. for shoulders, with my 5x5 exercise should i do dumbell presses, behind the neck with bb, or in front of neck bb. remember, im trying to get them bigger. mostly my outide shoulders to make my shoulders look wider. thanks.
 
DB presses may be an issue as a 5x5 excercise since you can only go up by 10 lbs total. however, if you have dumbells that go up by 2.5 lbs as opposed to 5 lbs then go for it. behind the neck is known to have a high risk of getting you injured, so front of neck seems like a good choice.

if you feel a need to focus on your lateral (side) delts, just make sure you throw in some upright rows and/or lateral raises as your accesory excercises.
 
DB shows the best result under MRI, and you don't have to worry about behind head/in front, etc - you do it upside your head.

My gym has the magnets that up 1.25 lbs, that makes it pretty easy.

5x5 DB Press
2x10-12 Side Raises
2x10-12 Reverse Fly's/supersetted with DB Shrugs
 
that's what I currently use............you double up with anyu other bodypart? I also toss in frnt raises and uprights on occassion.......

what routine are you doing now?

When I was doing the 5x5 I trained shoulders on their own day.

what routine are you doing now?

Right now I'm pyramiding my splits are:

chest/front delts
back/rear+side delts
off
legs
arms
off
off
 
see...that's what I don't like....the 3 day split........too much in one day...rather put an intense hour into one large bodypart and one small........but, to each his own........guess I'm fortunate to make the time............

Very similar to what I'm doing right now, only i do the shrugs separately.

I'd definitely go with db press.
