5x5 question

can you add some isolation excersizes to 5x5 without defeating the purpose of the workout? for example adding some bicep and tricep excersizes.
 
Yes. 1-2 exercises per session. I wouldnt train them to failure. Leave some reps behind.
 
I am a HUGE fan of The Shadow's 5x5 plan and I think I remember him saying not to do isolation exercises. I've been training with his program almost exclusively since my surgery and I've made great gains, including arm size and definition.
 
This information is available @ the geocities site. In other words you should have read it yourself. Now to answer your question run the program without it the first time and follow the program to the letter. Then from there you can add some assistance. direct arm worm work, one excercise each, 3 sets, trained progressively of course.
