5x5 intermediate Q&A

hey bros jus started this thread, if anyone who's been using or interested in 5x5(like me). please share ur experience with us. It would really helpful to all starters. cheers :)
 
Standing push press (military press) is my favorite upper-body movement. I recommend it over incline pressing.
 
from last couple of weeks, i was really sick, so did'nt to go gym:( but this week when I went to gym and did my workout i felt so screwed up, i wasnt even able do weights from two weeks ago. has experienced this before?
 
you lost some conditioning during that week, in addition to the sickness probably making you lose weight. First workout should be about 80% of what you were doing, but after that your body should get readjust to the heavy weight fast.

when i do MP i put too much strain on back and hurts a bit after my workout. I am thinkin of doin BTN press, as it wont put strain on my back. Any suggestions?

You did not want to increase or you can't, basically are you flat on these lifts?

THis routine increased all my lifts, I do the routine from time to time because it overtrains me very quickly like about week 8 or so. R u finding the same problem with overtraining?

mate, i think so, i was able to increase weights in my first 4 weeks after that its pretty flat in MPs. i feel so screwed up i am thinkin of taking a couple of weeks off or change my routine to needsize 5x5, wat u think?
 
I'm in. I loved this routine. Didn't build any mass with it, although it was a routine I started not long after a cycle endded. I got MUCH stronger. It was the first routine to really impress me with results and turn me on to periodization. Boring workouts but I jumped up with the weights I was handling.

I think you maxed out too soon on this lift. Back off for sure, that's a good idea. Skip one or two MP workouts then go back to it. Replace the MP with similar exercise but do lighter weights!! You can overtrain very quick on this routine, at least I did!

Do you feel over trained?

overtrained! I felt like i been F@#$ed up hard
