5x5 and Calves.

I've been doing the 5x5 for 8 weeks now and it's working incredibly.

However I can't help but keep looking down at my calves because it seems like they are the only thing not getting bigger.

I'm surprised I've never read a thread like this yet. So what do you guys think about just adding in 3 sets of calf raises 2 times a week?
 
Usually I do 5 sets of whatever once a week for calves the important thing is to keep going until you can't take the pain or you think your going to piss yourself!!!
 
Calves and forearms give me the best burn but I always have do do high reps for them. I think it's because (like your abs) they're slow twitch endurance muscles. I guess 5X5 could work for them but I get the best calf workout and growth when I do sets starting at 25 reps and keep doing the same weight until I can't do more than 6-8 reps. This usually only takes me 4-6 sets.

I'll probably do some calf work on my day 1 and day 2 workouts. Just because Day 3 has more sets and assistance for arms already. I thought I'd run it by here because I see tons of poeple say DO NOT FUCK WITH THIS ROUTINE.

Still not sure what I will do though. Right now I'm thinking just 3 sets of 15-25. But I kind of like the sounds of what fireflyer said. That would be with limited rest I'm assuming?

Calves are slow twitch?
