i've been on and off sick for the past 2 weeks but since this monday its been pretty bad so i haven't been going to workout... now i was supposed to start week 5 this week.. but i'm not gonna lift again till this shit is completely out of my system cause i feel like shit.. but anyhow.. when i did restart my 5x5 would i go back to week 4.. or just keep on with week 5.. thanks in advance..

stay with week 5 and don't feel discouraged if its hard.

my 5X5 ended in week 4 due to sickness. Back in November. I was sick for around 6 weeks, so I just started to lift again. When I'm back up, I'll start all over again

I'd restart on week 4 (or even week 3). Coming off an illness I doubt you've adapted to the week 5 workload; your body put it's energy into healing.

LOL... i heart you.

i moved this to the weightlifting forum- you'll get a better, more serious concentration of replies.

I'd start light wnough to be absolutlely certain that you'll get a couple weeks worth of weight increases.

The key is progression and if you start back up too heavy and stall quicker, you lose the 'momentum' from the steady increases that submaximal loads allow for.

It seems like a paradox but sometimes to speed up, you must slow down.
