41 but feel 61

New member
Hi all
I am 42 years old and been training on and off for the last 13 years, but the last 6 months ,3 days/week and cardio every day.
My diet is ok not squeaky clean but no junk food at all.

I have been doing some research via this site and many more regarding TRT .
I am interested in starting a TRT program i have all the tell tale symptoms to indicate low test.
My doc wont have any of it though and says i am depressed, this is not the case though.
Would a 12 week course of 100mg test e per week give me a definitive answer ?
Also would it be necessary to include arimidex @ .5mg eod during this" trial" period?

I also notice that some take 1IU of hgh eod also,is this to counter the affects normally associated with the andropause ie loss of muscle density?

Any help would be great as i am desparate to feel better and training on it s own is not helping.

Well if your dr feels he is so right have him do the tests to see if you are low in your test levels... Before he does the tests though have him agree to what low test levels are. Some of the these guys will do anything to keep face. Define the parameters first. Then speak to him about the script amount that will increase your levels of test that will bring say a 200 test level up to a 850 test level so you know exactly how much you will get if your test is low. He will give you some shit about that is what a 20 year old has. He probably even when wrong won't give you the script.
Don't ever do anything to your body without having tests done first. You need to know where you are before you start and where you are the whole time... There are dr. that will give you scripts for anything, just like you can speed down the road breaking the spead limit. If you don't know how the car you are driving is serviced you are asking for bad things.
Let us know what the dr. says.

Thanks for the reply s.
I have just recently had bloods done but I didn't get a copy of the results, but I can ask for a copy, and of bloods taken about six months ago.
The only figure that was mentioned was total t which was 13, ref range 8-30,I did say that seems on the low side then, she replied no its normal,I said how do you know what is normal for me? she said if I was within the ref range that is acceptable. I also asked what was my free t was but she didn't have a figure for that?
I hear what your saying about exercising caution and will take that on board thanks.
I will get my results and post them up and get some views from people in the know, then I can go back to my doc with some ammo.
once again thanks.
Chris

From what I have read I wouldn't waist my time. Your dr. is not interested or accepting to hrt.
Is this your GP? If so you need to go to an Endo! You need the full panel of blood tests to be sure what part of your test is low if any...

Hi chr!s, Please let us know how it goes. I am 48, and today in particular, I feel like I am 70. Going in for a full blood panel this Thursday, 2/12 at 06:00 AM. (So fasting is not so hard.)

Yeah she is my GP, I think I will ask for a second opinion and get referred to an endo, I have read on many sites that GP,s are not sympathetic to the male Hormones, kinda" pull your self together and man up".
Funnily enough my wife just prior to her cycle (Menstrual not gear) has been suffering hot flushes etc and went to see the same GP, without a moments hesitation was offered HRT.
Go figure!
Thanks goin on 4t and will post up any updates doubleb, and hope you do likewise.

That is because the Dr. is a woman.

Lol you're right,The only male GP at the practice is more of a woman than my GP though so i wont get much help there either, and every time I have seen him he wants to check my prostate!! I shit you not:confused: ." Morning doctor i have a sore throat" "certainly lets check that prostate then" .

I know exactly how you feel bro. Got those Docs who think they know what is wrong with you. Until you get to an HRT specialist or good Endo, you will get the run around and all the crap that comes with "we can only give you some cream for your test levels". Once blood levels prove that your test levels, along with many more things like thyroid, etc., if it comes out too low, then you should be qualified for HRT. HRT is good and gets you back on track feeling youthful again at good , proper doses. Going on 4T is right on what he is saying.

I am 65 and have been on HRT for years. IMO ... take 100 mg p/week of test for 6 months, even if it is androgel. Take 1 iu of HGH eod and 0.5 a-dex Thurs am and Sunday pm. You will feel sooooooo much better and never go back. This is my HRT along with a high protein, low sugar diet, exercise program and full sleep recovery. It really rolls back the clock.

Get your hormone level results. If you only had a basic blood workup then your hormone levels were not tested. Demand the results. Doctors have a habit of telling you everything is normal without recognition that you are not an idiot. You need to own your health. If your doctor won't do a hormone panel test - get a new one. Or, you can order them online and have it taken at a local lab. Normal range of test in men is 200 - 1000. You could have 210 test and the doctor would tell you it is normal. Unfortunately the medical community has not embraced HRT for men. And, if you are under 40, forget it. For women it is handed out like candy at the sign of a hot flash unless your under 45 - then it is depression. I think it is awesome that you are thinking about it and recognize that you don't feel well. Most men live this way and except it as aging. There is no need to accept aging.

Depending on where you are, or your ability to travel, there are lots of clinics out there that will do a workup for you. They embrace it fully and will support and monitor you all the way through.

btw - anti depression meds lower your test over time.

Bit of an update thanks for the replies guys been feeling outta sorts of late though.

Finally got round to seeing a new GP and going through the process of getting bloods done, although he has already told me that testosterone therapy can cause prostate cancer.
I was going to ask him to produce those reports but then thought hey, dont want to piss him off that quick! although test can aggravate existing cancers apparently.
So i asked if i could get a referral to an endo,"Why would you want to see an Endo for he says?"

FFS! This guy has got me down as depressed already! Still he is going to check for LH,FSH Test and eostragen so its a start we will wait and see what he says.
If he cant give me a straight answer as to why i feel like shit then am gonna start self medicating as per my original post, already got my test cyp 200mg/ml and Adex although its generic stuff from india called ALTRAZ is this stuff any good? anyway just gotta source some HGH then were GTG!

Cheers

Chris
