40 yard dash....

hey whats up guys.....well i am around 250 and 6 3'and play LB.....i need to improve my 40 yard dash.....and certain drills for the improving it???? i think i need to loose some wieght too.....not fat, but i gained a solid 15-17 lbs on a cycle and my body is not used to having to run with that much wieght around.....i know it is kind of a vague question but any help i would really like it karma here to for some help...thank you for taking time to read my post.
 
NO! Beef up your upper body! People constantly underestimate the role the upper body plays in a sprint! How fast would you run without arms? Keep truckin with the legs, and build a powerful, tight swing (shoulders). It will balance you and give you more power than you realize.

and another thing.....this may sound odd but i feel my legs are to muscluar right now....they measure a solid 29 and are lean and think i need chill out and stop site injecting there and lay off the sqauts 3 days a week....

ya but season is on so we dont lift as hard or as often......and coach says" jush work on expending my stride lengh" even though d 1 football is big time it somestimes is still child level coaches when some one needs help.....i am one of those ppl who need to holds someone hand....lol
 
Well, I wouldn't be squatting 3 times a week in season, but that's no reason to ditch heavy squatting altogether.

Carrying too much muscle shouldn't be that much of a concern, but if you've got fat slowing you down then its worth considering doing something about that.

Listen to whatever spatts and IronLion say, without a doubt :)
 
ya gonna sneak a test suspenison and wnny to lean out and then change some shit up......ya my lower body drafs my upper shit......at least i still got a 28 inch waist sorry i am a vain :)
 
250 and a 28 inch waist. Well we know its not fat holding you back.

I remember back when i played lacross we did a lot of explosion exercises for our legs to help speed. If my memory holds me true, Hamstrings are best trained with alot of explosion exercises.

Big is relative. A 42" ass doesn't look so bad when you have 49" shoulders. I'm 5'9", so I can spread the love a little. I don't feel very big.

When do you have to test your 40?
 
As far as upperbody muscles it is mainly shoulders and lats. I don't really consider erectors an upperbody muscle. How strong are you? Start doing plyo's and sprint. The most important thing is to sprint. An stop squatting 3 times a week to make room for sprints and plyo's.

thats true.,....plus i am having a hard time getting used to the extra muscle gains i have made...... dbol makes u blow up hard core but i wish i would have ran test prop and oral winny instead of test and s bol.........
