3x5 Assistance question....

In the 3x5 write up it has assistance as dips and chinups......would it be ok to add in abs on one of those days and bicep curls on another?

Is there a spreadsheet to put your weights into to know what to raise them to liek the 5x5 HAS?

also what would the drawbacks of doing bench and squat on the smiths machine have?

what drawback would doing seated cable rows have as opposed to standing rows?
(not planning on doing these two things but i was just wondering)

im starting this 3x5 on Monday January 8th. I might keep a log but im not sure,...

Do abs as much as you'd like. And curls arn't needed. With these workouts, your body works synergistically(spelling?) Your biceps will get work.

Not that I know of. Anyways, a 3x5 doesn't scale like a 5x5. You do the same weight 3x5. Why would you need a spreadsheet for that?

Similar to your sex life if you were to cut off your thingamajig. Don't use them.

Keep the log, it is nice to look back after 3 months and say "damn I was weak."

theguy, the idea with the 3x5 is to add weight to the bar as often as you can. At first, this will be every workout, then the frequency will decline until you're doing something pretty similar to the linear 5x5. Take a look at GSP's journal (the link is in the sticky) to see an example.
 
so like for example one day i do
like bench 155 for 3 sets of 5 then next work out 160 3 sets 5 and so on? thats how it works?
