350 bench

Saturday I benched 350. It was great. New PR.

Stats:
Weight 205
height 6' 1"

I did some push presses with 195 and started some arm work, but I didn't have much left in me.

It was great. I wasunstoppable. The bar was just going to go up and that was it.

I've been bigger, but I've never been stronger.

I attribute it to:
using speed days
using singles
using creatine

Speed days fucking work! I never thought they'd be so effective.

I'm doing max effort day every 5 days like this:
Max chest, back, speed chest, back, off.


I have pics that I'll post when I bring my camera in.
 
FUCKING nice!! KILLED THAT SHIT!! The speed days felt like bullshit to me too, but I think theres something to that shit. Even if its mental, every little bit helps. 365 coming soon! KEEP KILLING THAT SHIT!!
 
On The bar: 3 45lb plates 1 10lb plate 1 5lb plate 1 2 1/2 lb plate TOTAL: 350lbs (standard 45lb olympic bar)

Most average guys would get crushed by that much. You have now bench pressed as much as Bruce Willis did(wink wink) in unbreakable.
 
Thats what I like to fuckin see!! KILLED THAT SHIT!! Why the spotters hands around the bar on the third pic? I used to do most all my sets as forced reps, going up to 455 for a single. My spotter would keep his hands on the bar the whole time. The last few years Ive been doing completely unassisted aside from lift offs. I got stronger with the forced rep routine though, no doubt. It doesnt really fucking matter aslong as your getting stronger. its just difficult to tell what the fuck is going on when someone touches the bar. When I get random spots it pisses me off when someone does that. Then I cant record my reps right. It never fails with random spotters. For a mental edge Ill have my spotter put his hands near the bar, but never touching on my 1-3 rep maxes. I like to use whatever I can to my advantage. Just like you I use pretty much a bodybuilding style of benching with some ballistics as well. I like to use speed and enertia to my advantage. Ill use a slight arch also. 365 is next!! GO KILL THAT SHIT!! I hope to hit 400 soon when my back gets well enough. KILL THAT SHIT!!
