Well it's the best system we have to date. The point of it is to keep it that simple. Sure you can have dozens of micro fractions all over the place but then we would not be able to get anything done. This system although not perfect is the best in the world today and has been evolving for a few thousand years and i'm sure it will continue to augment and evolve in the millenia to come.
