30 yo career options help

Any suggestions for a 30 yo female for college courses? She has been working as a veterinary assistant and manager of same for many years. She knows the job very well but wants a change.

It will be her first time going to college and is sick of watching sick animals put to sleep etc. So she wants something other than what she`s doing now.

She`s aware of the pharmacy type jobs and , and couple of others Real Estate etc. but wants ideas.

She took a test to see what job she would "fit in" and it came out "Forest ranger" lol She actually liked the idea... but wants to be practical as well. and pay the bills.

Anything worth looking into? College courses? thanks for any replies.

Well...

It all depends on her personality...those tests really do not account for a lot of things. Does she want out of the entire "health care" world and into law enforcement? She could always take the regular "core" classes and find out through the counselors about what really interests her.

I did retail for 12 years and I decided it sucked. So, I went back to school as well.

I know you have a daughter but does she like being around other children?

Maybe a preschool teacher or aid.

Does she have a bachelor's degree or will she be working towards her degree?

Legal assistant....I'm just rattling off some things.

no......I would recommend a tech school that she could get her AA degree in a skill.....no point in going to college unless you know exactly what you want

Yes good idea. Thanks That might be better for her. She`s very smart and problem solves. She manages the whole veterinary place where she works now. She sorta likes working on her own.

I know those online tests don`t mean much... but She does like the outdoors and not the corporate environment.

She has never been to college. but She knows she`s gotta do something. Believe it or not, She worked construction /tree service for a bit and liked it. lol She loves animals(what female does`nt) lol I mean she could really work with them, It`s just the putting them down all the time she does`nt want to deal with anymore.

I told her about executive assistant or legal assistant... I think that`s a great field to go into. I guess it`s too corporate for her. I know I`m making it difficult with the exlusions, You can`t have everything or be too picky. She does`nt want to get rich, but wants to pay he bills.

She loves my kid, It`s her aunt, but she`s not into taking care of someone else`s or groups classes. etc.
