3 specific CKD Questions

sad

New member
Can anyone please confirm/answer the below for me:

1. Is it harder to get into Ketosis in Week 1? It took me 72 hours despite taking 2 * 2 iu of slin. the night before I started. My diet has been 80% fat, 18% protein, 2 % carbs (20gms).

2. Given that you can't mix dextrose with your creatine while on a CKD, are you just wasting money taking it 3-5 times a day by itself?

3. Post workout meal - Is it as crucial to have meal straight after workout while on CKD? Can it wait for an hour? Couldn't really stomach throwing down 80% fat / 20% protein immediately after a hard workout.

i find it much harder to get into ketosis in week 1... week 2 is a little easier, wk3 easier... etc. last time i did CKD, by the end of the diet i could get into ketosis in like 18hrs with no insulin

i take probably 10-15 grams of creatine everyday. have started mixing it with L-Glutamine and chugging it down. it doesnt' seem to effect my ketone level, but i have noticed that i stay a lot fuller during the week than when i wasnt' using the creatine.

i try to get a protein shake (pure whey with no fat) as my post workout shake. then about an hour or so later i eat a standard CKD meal (high fat, lower protein)

Thanks

I have heard that you shouldn't mix glutamine with anything and its better to take on an empty stomach, such as before bed & during the night. Is this not correct?

i can't really help you with your questions but you may want to pm MR. X over in the diet forum, man knows his stuff.

save you creatine and take it on the carb loads....high dose........pumps will be insane.

i do take it on the carb loads. about 2x as much as my daily dose during the week. i really think the creatine during the week benefits me. where as without it, i'd be really flat and out of energy by the end of the week, i seem to stay pumped and full all week.

been on for 4 weeks so far (taking creatine) and scale hasn't moved, but there is visible fat loss so i must be changing fat into muscle. nice!

I remember reading a post somewhere not to take Glutamine on CKD, or from a manual, saying that it might bring u out of ketosis. Not sure the specifics, but Ill post it once I find it again.
