3 part question re. gyno

ok, I have gyno which sucks ass. It isn't going away nor is it going to go away. I used adex during my cycle and bam I've got a tit like a bitch. It's only on one side which is odd but in any event my doctor referred me to a surgeon to have it removed (I was going to wait to see if it went away but the fu_ker is lactating now). My questions are for those that have had the surgery.
#1 Did your insurance cover it (my doc seems to think they will but wasn't certain)

#2 How long did you have to stay away from the gym after the procedure?

#3 How about scarring?

:worried:

I am going in for my surgary in a couple months. I have talked to both a general and plastic surgeon about the procedure.
1. If it hurts or is causing you some kind of trouble then your incurance should cover it.
2. It is hard to tell you how long you will be out of action as some people notice more pain then others. My doc estimated me to be out for about 2-3 week before I could start hiting ym upper body again.
3. The scar will be minimal in size and should eventually fade over time.

Thanks bro, good luck with your surgery. My nip is pretty tender and it is oozing liquid so my insurance should probably cover it. 2-3 weeks isn't too bad, I could probably use the break. My wife is going in for a boob job on Jan 24th so maybe I can get a deal if we both go at the same time.lol

have you tried tamoxifen therapy?

20mg three times daily, every 6-7 hours for up to 6 weeks (total 60mg/day). Tenderness should disappear quickly and swelling should begin to diminish within a few weeks. After 6 weeks, you can taper the dose down to 20mg twice daily (total 40mg/day), until the lump disappears (or if you want, stay at 60mg/day, whatever you can afford). after the lump disappears, continue at 20mg/day for 4 more weeks.

You might try that before letting them cut into you.

Honestly never heard of this. Anyone had success with this getting rid of a swollen mamory gland?

yeah...me and many others. I had gyno surgery twice. It grew back after both surgeries. I followed this regiment and the gyno disappeared and has never been back. That was over 2 years ago.

Id say thats a little less invasive than surgery too. ;)

Was browsing around, first time here and i had just had to register to reply to this.

Im not sure what you were doing but why didnt you have your PCT sorted out already? :o You should always have Nolvadex (Tamoxifen). I dont do steroids and even I know that. If you look it up you'll discover its used to in conjunction with cancer treatment so your probably thinking "what the fk?". However its also a very powerfull anti-estrogen. Its prescription only so how you get it is your business, although I cant imagine the doctor giving you any since you might have a hard time convincing him you have breast cancer.

Unlucky for you though taking it now wont do anything. If it would then the doctor would prescribe it and not tell you it needs to be cut off. (Which is presently the only option for anything that gets gyno).

The idea is that if you notice a lump while your using your gear you immediately take 60mg, then 40mg every day for 10 days. I can only assume it worked for ceo because he had it removed before so the Nolvadex simply kept it away.

Bro, I am not a newbie. I know all about PCT as well as the need to keep things in check while on. I did adex eod (except the last 2 weeks when I went to ed) while on and clomid for 3 weeks post cycle as well as HCG every 3rd day for two weeks immediately post cycle. The gyno came oddly enough AFTER my cycle. It started toward the end of my cycle but went away when I switched to ed with the adex. Don't flame me if you don't know anything about me.

Yes, there are case reports of nolvadex/tamoxifen averting the need for gyno surgery. Arimidex of course only blocks the aromitization of testosterone to estrogen. Once estrogen exists (like in you) you want to shield the estrogen receptors from estrogen until the estrogen can be cleared from the body. Using nolva can often avert surgery it seems. Your internist should give this a try first. (S)he should be able to find the relevant papers on pubmed, if not, pm/post up and I will get them for him/her.

If I got gyno, I would certainly try tamoxifen first before surgery.

Also, taking nolva during your cycle would possibly have avoided this. Arimidex works only for those who aren't so close to the gyno line, and just need to block aromitization a little. Some people, like me, don't even need anti-es ever, because I'm not sensitive at all, even with a gram or two of test. But I'm not going to get cocky or reckless, especially as I get older.

Good luck

You are wrong on both accounts. You obviously don't read posts well. Yes, I did have it removed twice, and like I said, it grew back twice. I began taking the nolvadex after it came back the second time. By the time I had started the nolvadex, the gyno was larger in diameter than a silver dollar (~2 inches), and painful as hell to the touch. If only I had known about this prior to my two surgeries.

I'd say that the chance is 50/50 you'd get a script for tamoxifen for this. If you can't get it from one doctor, go see another doc. I've known docs who will give scripts for tamoxifen for gyno and docs who wont. The ones who wont are usually older, stubborn "know-it-alls".

And please don't assume incorrectly on my behalf again as if I don't know what I am talking about. There are many here who have followed my advice about tamoxifen therapy for gynecomastia and have had complete remission as I have. There is a "search" feature here that may benefit you in the future...good to look there before "opening your mouth".

well said. There is nothing worse on this forum than somebody who has no idea what there talking about claiming that others that have been around the block a few times are full of shit. That fu_ker needs to do some research and maybe get a couple cycles under his belt before popping off (or at least read the posts carefully before he bashes)
