3 day work out for kids

School is out and I am taking my 2 boys 12 and 15 to the gym. I need some tips on a program for them. I know the 12 y/o is to young for free weights, the 15 y/o wants to build upper body and legs for highschool baseball. Both are in good shape and the youngest is hard to keep up with. Very active all the time. They are both in sports and really show interest in going to the gym. Thanks guys.

id think body weight exercises would be fine. pull ups chin ups lunges dips pushup sit ups box jumps step ups ect.

i think these would also be good because since they arent doing weights the youngest could compete with the old because they are doing there own weight. and wouldnt feel left out.

Using bands would be fine especially for the young one. It works a different pathway with more stress directly on the muscle, and less on the joints. My exercise psych professor is ACSM certified and is helping some junior high kids (his friends kids) train with them.

read both articles, very informative answers to your questions

Thanks for the reply, great links. Right on line with what I was going for. I may not have planned for enough conditioning time, but these guys are in sports and have a jump on the average couch potato. I will take it slow and condition them. They can't wait till the next workout.
