28 year old friend dead....

Funny how things change as you age as well ...

I remember being young and foolish bouncing heavy bench press off my chest like it was a nothing .... i'd get chest pains and figure " oh ya " that last work was a gooder !! i can feel the soreness and pain ... Ha, what an idiot i was ( but it's funny )

Now at 42 when i get a chest pain it's like i hold my breath for a few seconds just waiting for the heart attack to come ... the funny part is i never would have given my heart a second thought at 20 but now it's the first thing that comes to mind ..

I buried my best friend more then ten years ago , he was my workout partner and died from heart disease .. no history of it in him family ... he was one who road the rollercoast of gain loss gain loss gain loss gain loss .....
I don't blame steroid abuse for his death but i don't rule it out either .. fact is i don't even like thinking about it any longer ...

I get a good checkup at least twice a year , here in canada it's free so why not !!

Sorry to hear that.
I knew a guy who's heart arrested while running. No coronary disease, no blockage, perfect health, and just wiped out by a sudden and deadly arrhythmia.

I'm so sorry for your loss brother.

I had a health scare the other day. I had a wisdom tooth extracted last thursday (which is still in EXTREME pain, and I'm going to have to end up back at the er again, I swear this thing must be fucking infected). Well, a few days after taking the antibiotics, I started seeing bright red blood at the end of my piss stream. Scared the crap out of me! I went straight to the er at 6am.

They did full blood work, all panels, x-rayed my abdomen, back area, etc. I was scared shitless sitting in that er bed, thinking of every cycle I've done, any time I had the occasional drink, etc. Then the doctor comes in and says my blood work is excellent and it was one of the antibiotics flagyl causing the blood! I stopped taking it, and it went away. Thank God! But it just goes to show you, that you never know. Get those check up's done, get your blood work done at least twice yearly if you juice. I just turned 25 a few days ago, and I was scared shitless, makes you think!

the human body is both very tough and very fragile. It is both resilient and inflexible. With such physiological and biochemical complexity, its hard to understand how we survive at all.

condolences on the loss of your friend.

You and the others in this thread bring up excellent points with regards to health and mortality.

For the time being you only get one body- take care of it as best you can.

I have this every now and then too, even when im not using... I think it might be stressed related. I had it yesterday after a shitty day at work, but it seems when it hurts worse my right shoulder has a little pain too. During my 1st cycle i had a terrible chest pain while i was sleeping. Hurt enough to wake me up... For the next 3 days i was sore there. You guys think this could be a murmur? I'm only 23 yrs old..

Get to a Dr and have it checked out.
Better safe than sorry.

Killed over in a meeting. Heart attack. Was dead before he hit the floor. He was 5'10 160. He was not a steroid user. Went to the doc a week before with mild chest pain and was dismissed without any tests.

Guys, get yourself a physical and bloodwork. We are not invinceable. And steroid abuse can hurt you if you don't take the proper precautions.

I'm not trying to link educated steroid use to any type of heart diesease etc... I just wanted to remind everyone of the dangers of not getting physicals and bloodwork.

Please don't let this thread open a can of worms about steroids and heart disease. That's not why I posted it. I guess my point is that you can't know your bodies condition without physicals and bloodwork. It's impossible. Get it done.

Ohh man, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. God help also his family to provide strength to move on and heal up. This is terrible.

Although painful experience, members should share this kind of negative experiences more often, not to trash talk about steroids but rather to lead the members (especially the newbies) to better and well informed decision making regarding the use of steroids. You are so right man, we are not invencible and we all should dismiss this thoughts of "indestructibility" and be more responsible about our behavior.
