In my own case, using only 5mcg of cytomel 2 times a day made my TSH jump from 3.5 to .1 (.1 is considered out of normal range and hyperthyroidism). IF you browse google groups, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone with true hypothyroidism using more than 5mcg twice daily - even those with TSH in the high teen range (20 or above)
The ONLY way 25mcg would even approach a replacement dose is if someone had serious, serious hypothyroidism.
I don't advocate using cytomel either, because prior to using it my TSH hovered near 1 (which is ideal.). My thyroid bounced back several months after using it, but not to the same level it was before. In retrospect, using it was complete stupidity since I could have gotten the same results with diet and cardio, without the muscle loss.
