FYI creatinine is an inactive byproduct of creatine. Unfortunately high creatinine blood levels also indicate kidney failure.
Usually I'm off all supplements for a week before I get my yearly physical but this time I stayed on right up to that morning and for the last week of the cycle I was taking a higher dose (10mg) than usual. The doc said that my blood test showed higher than usual levels of creatinine, so he wants to test my kidneys... xray and another blood test after I've been off for a month. Of course I'm not going to argue with him, just in the 1/1000 case he's right. Shit, it's only 2 more weeks.
The worst part is, before I go back in, I have to collect a full 24 hours of urine. Picture a man in business clothes, walking through downtown at 9am, into a crowded clinic (it's in an office building) with a gallon jug of pee. Nice.
