I test drove a new redesigned Tahoe today and man was it nice. It has a softer suspension and at highway speeds runs on 100hp. It rides nice. I have never been an SUV guy but I may reconsider. Does anyone own one?

I drove one. Nothing special. It would be worth the extra money to get a Q7.

how fast did you drive? I drove one and it got squrilly at 80mph?? what did you think?

The Subaru Tribeca actually rides very nice. It surprised me. Better safety rating than the Tahoe too.

100 hp? seems weak, I get 166 hp out of a 2.4L engine in my CRV (4 cyl). I honestly wouldn't go any lower.

I dont think I went over 60mph.. I have always driven luxury cars however it just seemed like it rode really nice

It shuts down to 100hp to conserve fuel.

The standard engine is a 290-hp 4.8-liter V8.

yeah, but it has that system where it shuts off cylinders or something to increase gas mileage after you hit a certain speed... something like that? the sales guy was blabbibg so fast I couldn't understand him... I think the lexus 400 does it too...

WRONG!

EPA fuel economy, city/hwy: 15/21 mpg

don't believe the sales shit, these are the numbers.

isin't that better than it was before??? I remember it not being a significant amount of fuel to be saved... I went on, and am still looking. my 6 cly gets the same gas mileage. nothing out there is floating my boat as far as vehicles go these days.

If it shut down (on average) for any significant period of time to 100 hp, you would get 35-40 mpg.
