20 gauge needle dominated rubber stopper!

I been using a 20g to draw with. My deca vial has several chunks taken out of the top of it and the rubber is floating in the oil.

How can I use a 20g and keep it from ripping my vial up next time?

hey bro not good to hear...

but that's what happend when you buy gear from amatures who bake the gear with the rubber-lid on...

get a new sterile vial från getpinz.com or cjintllabsupply or somewhere and put all your gear in the sterile vials instead

Don't forget the filter.

Thanks bro! I got a couple extra laying around!

i use an 18g to draw up, but i keep it in there during the loading. i load up for about 3 weeks worth of shots. i load one up to 1cc, then unscrew the syringe w/ the 18g still in the stopper.I then put the 25g pin on the syringe, and continue with another one.

Not so sure about that idea, want to get a second opinion.

I use each drawing pin just once, then discard it. Pushing a pin through the rubber stopper dulls it quickly. Reusing the drawing pin could eventually dull it to the point it shreds the stopper.

making one puncture for 3 weeks of shots seems like a good trade off...and if you think that the 18g needle staying in there inbetween loadings is letting in potential contaminants. BA will take care of it. i havent had a problem doing it so far. or just stick with 20g and keep on ripping up the stopper.

It's only on the deca vial because the source baked it with the stopper on. I am going to just carefully transfer the deca to new vials. Thanks for the adviceee!

20g should not tear up a decent stopper. That's more a reflection of cheap rubber to me.

that will happen if you use that big gauge pin.

I was told specifically to use a 20g and not an 18 for that reason. I was just wondering if there was a technique I wasn't doing that makes it not tear a hole. It only did it occasionally.

I went thru a 50ml jugs of test and EQ using just 1-2ml per week and never had a problem with 18g
