I was given this speech at 16 years of age in the month of October, to say it helped is quite the understatement.
The single and most prevalent reocurring theme about asking a girl out among most men seems to be the chance of rejection. Lets look at this so called "rejection". This "rejection" has caused much fear and has hindered possible romances, love and good sex from running its course or the chance of it at least. What I am getting to is this. Who cares what another may think? So you go up to some random female and ask her out, she says no. Big deal, move on, that girl won't remember you and you won't remember her. Why don't you go back 5 months from now, remember that girl in the gym that you caught eyes with here and there on a consecutive basis but you did not act on it because you "might be rejected", lets say you did act on it and she said "no thanks", would that matter at all right now? Would that matter at all 10 minutes after it happend? No, no one cares. So she told her friend that you asked her out and she declined, do they give a poo? No. Point is this my friends: If you see someone, go ahead, you should want to here a "no" every now and again, its ok, so many people pass up opportunities on a daily basis, its just not fair to you. I guarantee the major majority of the time you will hear a "yes". Introduce yourself, tell her "chances are I will never see you again" and that you felt compelled to say something, ask her if she would like to go to dinner and if that is uncomfortable say "how about breakfast then". Don't miss these opportunities gentlemen.

Alot of folks today have more than they need. It is said to "make sure you have the things you need, stay away from the things you want". Your "wants" cause suffering even in the most minute form. Challenge yourself to "Do the best you can with what you have". I personally have more than I need and regret it to some extent, but thats what trial and error is about, learning. Very few if any thing is permanent, if there is permanence, it is of the purest fashion (love comes to mind). When you die, tell me what you own, you become food for worms or fossilized matter.
Just some thoughts for the day. peace
