1st show need help from anyone who competes

Doing my first show in 13 weeks, a guy from my gym told me his diet and it looks like this for the first 6 weeks,

Meal 1 8am- 8 eggwhites, 1 banana ( I cant stand oatmeal )

9am- train- shake with water after gym with flax oil 35g protein

Meal 2 11am- large chicken breast, one potato

Meal 3-2pm- same as #2

Meal 4- 5pm- 8oz lean steak, 1 cup of greens

Meal 5- 8pm- 1 can of tuna

Meal 6- 11pm- 8 egg whites

8L of water a day


Just wondering what any of the expirenced BB think of this diet/what I should change??I am 220lbs not sure of body fat. Also what is the best cardio for bb shows?? Thanks alot

I don't think it's a good idea to take the flax with the whey, becuuse it(the flaxseed oil) slows obsobstion. Futhermore, you might want to take some carbs after the workout.

True it's a good idea to limit carbs, but it might (only my opinion) be wise to take the carbs after training.

For the second meal have it before you train, this way you have energy for your workout.
Post workout have 40-50g protien powder mixed with oatmeal. (tastes like chocolate pudding)
You want to limit your carbs, but the most important time to consume them is post workout.
Also, keep the red meat. You need fuel!!
The last show I was in I ate red meat every day.(I won) If you cut your calories too much you will lose too much size. Instead, kick in the cardio. 1 hr in the am on an empty stomach and an 1 hour in the evening (brisk walking only). Don't start with the second cardio session until about 5 weeks out. Start with the am session for 4-5 days/week, then bump it up to 6 days a week twice a day 5 weeks out.

Take the flax later in the day, with one of your other meals. I don't thnk your carbs are too high at this point (13 weeks out), but gradually as the time nears for your competition, you'll have to reduce them.
