To answer the other questions the majority of players in the nfl are just naturally gifted freaks who are so talented that they don't even need aas. Some guys don't even train hard like you or I would be accustomed to (excuse my spelling). As far as the ones who do use, mostly growth and test. maybe a little clen too. On the flipside of the coin when you take an athlete wo is making millions of dollars and has every training and chemical resource at his disposal things become tricky. This holds especially true with olympic athletes.
Spot on balla. I think lots of people have a hard time accepting that no matter how hard they train, eat right, etc.. they can't make it in the pros. Truth is that most professional athletes are exactly what balla said "freaks"- they were born with superior genes. It's not really a novel or bizarre concept- In my sport I know plenty of guys who train less or have taken years off from top level competition, but are still stronger than me!! You just learn to deal with it-they are freaks with superior genes. We are not created equally.
The other consideration is that becoming a pro athlete can be a bizarre process WITHOUT a guaranteed positive outcome. Guys train and compete for years and for various reasons they never enter the pro or elite ranks. Maybe their personalitys suck (Jeff George is an extremely talented athlete, but he isn't playing this season is he!), maybe they didn't know the right guy to help them get noticed, maybe they got injured and were written off, they could have families and quit...the list goes on. There is more to becoming a pro than having good games, training a lot, and having good genes.
Todd Marinovich is an excellent case study-Dad trained him from early childhood to be a pro quarterback. He was on the plan and played well in college. But in the pros, Todd fell apart-why? He was burned out!! Twentysome years devoted to football-he got sick of it, started doing lots of drugs which interfered with his ability and voila, he sucked and got the axe and was pretty much blacklisted. Everything pointed to him being a successful player but ....Look at all the Heisman winners who are NOT that great in the pros..?
Some athletes actually have trainers and/or chemists alter the chemical structure of a drug slightly so when it comes up on a test it is an unknown substance. This can be done to most any erogenic aid that can be applied to sport.
I have heard of this, but I think that this is not as effective as you would think. Altering the chemical structure of compounds tends to alter their effects. So a steriod could easily become a completely inactive compound or a birth control pill could become a powerful anabolic not seen for decades that never passed beyond clinical trials

. Oh yeah GH is still undectectable, but the test is coming. The IOC is the driving force behind it.
Bro welcome. Best of luck recovering.
