12 weeks of WS over ;)

Done with my 12 weeks of WS... did wonders for my Deadlift, went up about 30lbs, didn't do much of anything for my ATF squat, perhaps i need a way to work out of the pocket more, and maybe change my form a bit. My box squat did go up a good 20lbs though, and as for my bench, about a 5lb gain. I haven't had much luck with flat bench since last june, since then i've only gained about 10-15lbs on my bench. Didn't test my OHP or cleans yet, but when im dont with all my testing(then a week off ), ill post up. Anyhow, just an update/rant, take it as you will

Great job. 12 weeks aint nothing in the grand scheme of things. Was this your first experience with the W.S. training? If you could keep up those gains over a year that like over 100lbs on your deadlift and 20lbs on your bench!

Can you tell me how long you have been training and if your increases are typical of an experienced lifter (more than a couple years of steady training)?

I'm currently debating giving the W.S. methods a try but I'm reluctant to give up my current program of 1 bodypart once per week.

Maybe once the fall rolls around and I focus more on strength than hypertrophy I'll give W.S. a try.

what is WS training?
But any way, any gain is a good gain! and post those other tests

This is not my first time using WS, but it is my most successful I suppose. I'm not very happy with the bench, but it has been rather stagnant for about the last 8 months :(. As for the Squat, what i was doing just didn't help with ATF much, and I realize i didn't work my weak spot enough. I have been training(hardcore), for over 2 years, although i did train for awhile before that, i was very unknowledgable :). WS is a very good program but I do find it somewhat complicated to follow just because its so easy to overtrain and everything.

The way I see it is, if your training right which you are then if gains aren't great, it's because recovery wasn't optimal

I personally can't train back to back ala westside, my CNS would be shot in no time at all. Well I can but workouts would have to be really short and low in volume.
That's how I used to train, 4 days a week, and while I made gains, I felt like crap most of the time and had niggling aches and pains

Some people can take the constant max efforts, and some can't even with exercise rotation, which IMO, doesn't do much to alleviate CNS stress, since your still straining week in and out.
