1/3c Dextrose =? carbs

I have the Supplement Direct brand Dextorse and it lists on the label 1/3c has 75g carbs. However, I remember a post a while ago about someone weighing 1/3c of dextrose and it weighing like 56g's...and they weighed 1/2c and it weighed 75g I believe. They stated the Supplement Directs label was wrong.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm exactly how many carbs dextrose 1/3c has??

Depends on the size of the cup! j/k

A cup is 240mls, so 1/3 c = 80 mls, which is pretty close to 75g I'd guess. Why don't you weigh it?

I think it is 36g per 1/4 cup for NOW brand dextrose powder. That would mean it is 48g per 1/3 cup. It probably varies depending on the granularity.

48g per 1/3 cup would be pretty consistent with 75g per 1/2 cup, since 67% of 75 is about 50.

Probably. With NOW brand stuff, I can put it in the cup and measure it, but if I press it down, it compresses.

That indicates that there is almost definitely less than 75g per 1/2 cup. 75g per 1/2 cup seems wrong. Also, 1/3 cup of maltodextrin is 32 grams.

I say 1/3 cup = ~48 grams.

When you measure yours, do you pour it into the cup and level it? When you level it, do you press down, or sweep the stuff off the top? I think you should sweep the stuff off the top with a straight edge (don't pack it down) and just assume it is 50g per 1/3 cup.

No, I don't compress it . I just level it off and sweep across the top.

Thanks for the info, I'll start using 1/2c now instaed of the 1/3c.
