The Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Bears will both be gunning for a playoff victory on Sunday when they meet at Soldier Field.

Oddsmakers currently have the Bears listed as 8½-point favorites versus the Seahawks, while the game's total is sitting at 37.

The Seahawks scored a late touchdown to come-from-behind and stun the Dallas Cowboys 21-20 last week. Seattle failed to cover the 2.5-point spread, and the final score went UNDER the posted total of 48.

Jerramy Stevens caught five passes for 77 yards with two touchdowns to lead Seattle. Matt Hasselbeck completed 18-of-36 for 240 yards.

The Bears were defeated by Green Bay 26-7 as a 3-point favorite last time out. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (38.5).

Rex Grossman completed only 2-of-12 passes for 33 yards with three interceptions in the loss. Cedric Benson rushed for 109 yards on 13 carries.

No doubt you would think this round would be fairly easy.......
4 teams with an extra weeks rest........
It's these spreads!

Seahawks are lucky to be there.
8.5 is a lot of points.
What's the forecast for Chicago Sunday?
the forecast is Rex Grossman QB'ing. 14-7 game wouldn't suprise me. or 10-6.

Easier to predict weather.
As long as he doesn't make too many mistakes I like Bears.
When he is bad he is brutal!

if i could count on Seattle playing shitty like last week, i'd dump the whole load on Chi.

I'll be back for this. I'd like to go all in on my bears.

it's these obvious choices that has Mr. Hung in such a lofty place k wise. OSU owns Gators, etc. Grossman vs. Hasselbeck. & Mr. Holmgren is a pretty damn good coach. i will still go with the Bears, most likely, but don't think Seattle won't try and win this game.

The big ten overrated. Maybe joepa can come to michigan and we can finally win a bowl game.

There is a whole cadre of reasons why what happened in that game happened. However I don't feel it was because the Big 10 is overrated.

464 large and some change on Bears.

gjohnson5 you were doing fine until you got "cute"
when you bet against your home town boys LSU
I knew it got to your head
I don't even remember who it was LSU stomped in the bowl game
you're trying to outsmart the oddsmakers
you can't do that
you have to be cool with your stash and bet only when you have a good hunch
now you're chasing down the winning payoff

you people without much karma making bets here
post on the thread so I can give you a decent hit
I'm not going to search you out on the anabolic board

You have given out too much Karma in the last 24 hours, try again later.
I'll reload
I'm at work and can't watch the game
I break away and catch some action
chicago got a TD before the half ended
21-14
must be a good ballgame

Crap. I didnt realize this started so early. I would've taken Seattle and the points big on this one. I don't really want to bet on the other game.

how soon you forget
this seattle team went to the super bowl last year
and could have won it
they've already been through this shit
they weren't coming to chicago and being intimidated

needto did not forget it......................... :)

myself I didn't "like" any of these games
I suggested a grand strategy of betting all four dogs with the points equally across the board
you'd be 3-0

In this divisional playoff series , I will agree that the games have been close. Based on the recent play of Seattle I can see why the spread was +8.5 because they have not played well. Chicago, on the other hand has been beating everyone pretty well.

The question is do you think what has happened in the regular season will continue in the playoffs???

I've also said that the point spreads at time are a complete joke. Hindsight is 20/20. People who make good predictions before the game are few and far between....

would have made you 4-0
I looked at the games for 3 days
if I wrote a tip sheet
I'd have said fuck it guys
I have no picks
bet the dogs across the board
at worse you'll go 2-2

I prefer to handicap in the regular season
you can spot "look aheads and letdowns"
in the NFL playoffs there are no "look aheads and letdowns"
seattle came to play
I wished I could have watched the game
I'd leave my accounting computer and get up and go back to my embalming room(I have a TV mounted back there)
and catch some action
first time it was 14-13 seattle
I'm thinking wtf
then I go back again and it's 24-21
seattle
wtf again
must have been a gutsy game

If I keep just one of you from getting into the game and lose real cash
my work is done
