07 Toyota Tundra?

I saw one of the new ones today and it was awesome.. It has 381hp will out pull and outperform Ford and Chevy. What are your thoughts on this truck.. I wonder if it will replace the american icon?
 
I like it and would seriously consider it in about 4 years after they get the standard "new truck/car" bugs worked out of it. The big 3 better start paying attention the japs are making better bigger and badder rigs starting now. I will buy the best truck for my money and right now, it's a toss up between toyota and GM.

I agree, My friend was ranting about his and I had never thought of a tundra for a nice truck until he started rambling the HP pulling this and that.. I would much rather have the 07 Silverado..

True, bro. "J" VIN Toyota Yaris. They've been built in Japan for about 4 years and just be imported to the U.S. this year.
 
after all the vehicles I have owned, if Honda would just make a good full sized pickup and drop this ridgeline crap, I would only own Hondas. Those vehicles NEVER die.

I think it's a good light duty pickup, but I need a heavy duty pickup that can actually be used and abused. Chevy is the only one to date that can hold to my abuse out of the big 3.

OHHHH lets not forget about the man that bought a PRIUS.... and traded his good ole boy ford truck.heehehehe
 
my father just test drove one yesterday. He said the tranny was awesome, a 6 speed that you don't even feel shifting(it's on the floor though and should be on the column). He liked the engine also, said it had great power. He was going back and forth from the ford to the toyota and in the end he went with the Ford. I think the small back seats in the toyota and that Ford is throwing great deals right now made his decision.

For me, screw that 1/2 ton crap, if I'm buying a truck then I want a TRUCK.
 
I will buy American if you pay my maintenance and repair bills. Deal?

The fords are throwing good deals out there and their prices are the best of the big 3 for sure. I guess it's just what you get though. I would rather pay a little more either up front or each month to get something that will last twice as long with on average, very little problems.

I grew up a in Fords so you won't get me in that mess. I'm really tough on things/everything and so I like the American toughness of a 1 ton or so to help keep from breaking things. I don't think the Toyota would hold up for me, for my dad it would be a great truck. My mother thought the Ford had better interior/ quality on like the leather and controls. I haven't been in either of the 07's but guess she's right. I think the Ford was a little more(39 vs 38) but the 0% easily evened that out. I'm buying a 08 1 ton with the new diesel this fall so I'm all about the Ford.

Your right though for on road driving the Toyota will blow the Ford away for durability. Who drives a 4WD only on the road beside my father though?

My Jeep mechanic is on speed dial. LOL. You might think I'm joking but it's a Jeep so that is normal. I plan stays at his shop for it around my vacation. Everytime I go somewhere I take it in to him. Damn toys anyway.
