let’s talk water!

I'm wondering how many of you on here who train just about on a daily basis are drinking a ton of water. You hear from people that you're supposed to drink a certain amount. I think for a normal person they say you're supposed to drink half a gallon but for an athlete it's more like a gallon total. Be honest, how much water are you drinking a day on average?
 
5L a day on average
I think a general rule of thumb is 1ml of water per gram of daily calories
Ie 5000cal diet youll drink 5L
Obviously climate comes into play also, just a general rule of thumb
