    Rye bread?

Yeah, I posted this same question a while back... Rye bread has a low GI (lower than whole wheat too, apparently). I go for the seedless rye myself.

    rye bread > wheat bread?

I saw an article or maybe I heard something on the news about how rye bread is better than wheat in that it causes less of an insulin spike... can anyone here confirm or deny this?

    melatonin

3mg and I sleep like a log straight through the night. I don't take it all that often though. I'm not sure if it's possible to build up a dependency on it, or maybe make my body resistant to it... I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.

    personal power mixer...

I have one. I like it a lot. I use it with ~10 oz. water and 1.5 scoops of Optimum Nutrition's 100% whey and it works like a dream. Very fast. Very easy. I don't know how you like your shakes, but if you like them thick, it probably won't do too good of a job. Also, if you have one of...

    diet tracking software

Yeah, I knew someone would bring that up. I've used Fitday, but only very slightly. The nice thing about it is the huge database of food... which I think is going to be our biggest problem.

    diet tracking software

OK, first off, a little background. I try to keep this brief... It's always been kind of a nuisance for me to track/plan my diet/daily cals. A few summers ago I was using pencil and paper. That was pain because I had to manually add up all the numbers and do all the math myself. This...

    No Gains, Gaining Fat

As much as it sucks, it really does pay off to write down exactly what you eat. I think a lot of people don't have an accurate picture of what they're actually getting each day in terms of macronutrients. How long have you been working out (total)? Just 1 month? How much water are you...

shin splints KARMA FOR HELP I NEED IT BAD....

I used to get them really bad myself... specifically, on the insides of my shins. I tried all those exercises, but they didn't seem to do very much, to be honest. What really helped me was stopping running all together for a week or two (until they completely healed). I also analyzed my step...

    Question about squat form...

What exactly do you mean by this? Is this the motion of sticking your butt out like you're sitting back/down?

    Question about squat form...

Thanks for the tips. I tried the wall thing before (I think I read a post of yours about it before) and with my toes right on the wall, I was able to go through the motion, albeit slow and shaky. haha. As for assistant work... My leg routine is squats, sldl and leg extensions. I don't do a...

    Question about squat form...

In the past I've either shirked away from doing squats, or kept to really light weight because I've never been 100% confident with my form. I've read a ton about it, but for some reason it never feels right. I use a stance that's probably 6" or so wider than shoulder width. I keep my back...
