I don't think that's true. That's like saying after eating protein for so long that it no longer builds muscle, or that carbs no longer give you energy because your body is use to them. The human is so complex, yet so simple.

Let's say I am supposed to be eating 2500 calories per day just to maintain my current body weight. To lose weight, I need to subtract 500 calories off that numbers. What if I am working out and doing cardio and burning 1000 cals ? So now I am subtracting 1500 calories...
Agree, but I just don't have the energy that I use to to do multiple body parts in same day. That's why I try to keep rest days between chest and tri, and back and bi.
My favorite way to burn fat is to do cardio in the AM on an empty stomach. Your glycogen stores will be depleted and your body will use fat as energy. Like I said above, you need carbs for energy, just the right kinds and with a protein to counterbalance the insulin spike.
when losing weight, slow and steady is the best approach. You don't want to have too much of a calorie deficit because you will burn off muscle and lean body mass which will actually slow your metabolism and be counterproductive.
Yesterday I went to Trader Joe's and bought a couple bags of their stir fry mix and cooked 3 chicken breasts. That was last nights and tonight's dinner. It was really good. Probably too high in sodium though. It said no preservatives added, but seemed high in sodium. More suggestions are...
Diet has always been my downfall mostly because I don't plan ahead. I have been doing really well recently, but it is becoming a pain in the ass to prepare meals. I need to start cooking things that I can eat several times. My wife will help, I just need suggestions. My first meal is a...
Here is an example of the 5x5 chest w/o I do:
2 warm up sets up 135 x 15
set 1 - 135x10
set 2 - 185x5
set 3 - 225x5
set 4- 250x5
set 5- 275x5 (note- when I reach 5, I add 5 lbs to sets 4 and 5)
set 6- 225 to failure (ass kicker)
When you have hit a plateau, spend 2 workouts doing high...
There use to be a thread on this site a couple years ago that talked about all the funny stuff you saw and heard at the gym. It was a long thread. One that stood out to me was a guy brought a red plastic gas can to the gym to drink out of, LOL.
I do cardio in the AM and weights in the PM around 2-3 pm. This allows me time to get a few meals in after w/o. I don't have any strength in the AM for heavy weights.
When i do the 5x5, I would always do a final set of about 80% of my last set and do it to failure. That totally kicks your ass. Usually only on bench press and curls though.
Thanks a lot. Am I burning too many cals with 2 sessions at 1000 total ? I do the cardio in the AM on empty stomach and weights / circuit training in the evening. I will be doing this 5 times per week, and 1 time of cardio only with 1 rest day per week. (my mayo is miracle whip light...
