    Tribute post to B fold

In the short time I've been reading posts - and the shorter time I've been posting - I've found b fold to be both a great inspiration and teacher. The training board is definately where its at.

how many of you do planned layoffs, im starting my first

I hate layoffs, whether they're enforced or not. I'm starting to use periodisation and realise their importance, so I'm going to have to get used to them and try to enjoy some active recovery!

    Making Weight...and meet results.

Very, very impressive! My bench press is the only lift that comes close to those numbers. Amazing stuff.

Suston, help me here (bag training)

Split your arms day between Monday and Wednesday (triceps on Monday, biceps on Wednesday) or do them on Friday along with legs. You could dedicate an entire day to boxing (Saturday), if you did that. Alternatively you could drop the arms day completely and do plenty of upper-body compound...

    Fats In Diet

Just try and get as much quality, clean food as you can. No need to put a limit on the amount of good food you eat at your age. Eat up! :D

    Wait a second...

Indeed you're right, but the different angle is quite important. As mentioned above, its much like a decline versus a flat bench. Most people are stronger through the plane a decline bench press follows.

    Ian King training???

There is an article at T-Mag that outlines a bulking routine (training, diet and lifestyle), written by Ian King, that takes the piss a little. It goes to extremes to emphasise how important rest and minimising stress are. Practically, what he outlines isn't possible, and I think he says so...

    Workout opinions?

1-1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight is sufficient when trying to gain mass. Carbs are your friend if you're bulking up. Your current levels are too low. Try 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat at 3000 calories for a while, and see how it goes. I love my football :) The Brazilians do it better...

    Workout opinions?

What's your #1 goal? Adding mass (and strength) or losing bf? Concentrate on your #1 goal, achieve it, and then re-assess your goals. If, as you say, you want to add mass, then you're going about it the wrong way. What you posted above looks like a perfect recipe for fat loss rather than...

    DrBones' Cutting Journal

Not surprising you can barely walk having done all those hamstring curls after 10 sets of squats, while on low cals! :D I'm going to have to watch Pumping Iron sometime...

high intensity, anaerobic threshold for cutting?

4 sprint sessions weekly? Did you do them in the AM and workout in the PM?

    Dips anyone?

I love dips. I used to do them when I worked out at a gym, but now I workout at home and don't have the 'luxury' of a dip station. Dips and flat bench press helped blow up my chest - its my 'best' body part.

    Fat Girl strikes again!

Do a search on free weights versus machines. You'll never touch a machine again :)

    Fat Girl strikes again!

That tends to mean you're doing them correctly, if I'm not mistaken?

Is it bad to lift when your sick????

I had a bad head cold three weeks ago. I decided to lift three days after I started to feel sick, because a few of the symptoms disappeared and I was feeling rested up and better. Bad, bad move. I lifted badly and the workout really messed me up. Working out while sick made me a whole lot worse...
