I would take to a GOOD mechanic, not some shade tree place, and have them do a full tune up on it, well first have them see if it throws any codes. Then put in Spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor, wires, fuel filter, air filter, fluid change, clean out the EGR and IAC, maybe fuel system cleaner...

Oh, Forgot to say don't worry about the grade of gasoline, unless your running 11:1 cp or 20 lbs of boost through that thing. All the rating does is change the ignition point of the gas.

Alright, how many miles are on the car? What is your maintainence schedule like? When was the last time that any maintainence was done on the car? This should help narrow it down.

It is either the fuel system or the ignition system, I know that much from your description, but it is hard to say without more information. Most likely problems would be fuel filter, fuel pump(when you turn the key on/engine off listen for a humming noise, that is your fuel pump priming, or...
