    A beginning runner still has to develop the muscle needed to run effeciently. When I just started I always had sore muscles after a run. So I guess it depends. If your legs are already up to the task there's little point in taking protein, complex carbs are more needed in that case.

    @Distortion: I have really sweaty feet too while running. I recently bought a few pair of X-Socks (check here) and while they're a bit expensive (12 euro) I no longer have problems with sweat and / or blisters.
