my point was that there are several causes of shin splints and that the original post about the cause was incorrect. to me, flat feet falls in the "structural" category of risks.
also, there is a difference between sore shin and splints...a big difference!

first off, you dont get shin splints from one day of running-whether it is 2 miles or 10 miles. it is repeated running of distances [and subsequent impact resulting from] that are too much for your structure and muscular...

With all due respect, that is just not true. Perhaps the biggest cause of shin splints is running too much, too soon...or running too much for your structural [musclular] condition of the lower leg.

Hey all,
I did squats last Friday-went at it pretty good and was VERY sore for a few days (normal for me after squats) and my legs are a tad sore now (wed) but doing just fine.
However, on around monday, I started feeling my "skin" hurt (as if there was some severe chaffing) under my left arm...
All of you guys are right, I think that we had building problems and were not communicating. We did discuss this and decided we were ready for a split and really just went for it...obviously too rash of a decision...
