I prefer a brown rice/wild rice mix. Cooking it with broth instead of water is also a great suggestion. I also add a touch of olive or coconut oil to the broth before cooking, and try a proper rice cooker instead of stovetop. Easier to get it perfectly cooked that way. I didn't like brown rice...
Hey guys, what are your thoughts on saturated fats? I've been told by some sports nutrition specialists that some saturated fat is necessary and helps to build muscle. (I'm trying to build muscle)...but then saturated fats have a bad rap overall. Thoughts/ experiences?
I was on Marvelon for 10 years! I have been able to get very lean while taking it, but I've recently just gone off of it. I've also recently just started to train for muscle gains. I'm just hoping that getting all those hormones out of my system will help hasten my progress.... or at least not...

So I'm trying to get enough protein in my diet to put on muscle and get lean. Unfortunately, I'm lactose and soy intolerant and I don't like to eat mammals (beef, pork).
I'm starting to get sick of chicken breast! Any ideas for protein!?
It's too bad that your parents are so hard-headed. No offence to them. If you MUST eat what they serve then remember portion control. Look up proper portion sizes (IE starchy carbs should be able to fit in one cupped hand), and eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going.
I used to be crazy about eating in the morning. I woke up hungry every day, and couldn't do anything until I ate. Now, for the past few months, I'm not hungry at all in the morning, but I eat anyways.
