What is push press.
And whatever it is, using your legs to help you seems like it's worthless, because training past failure is no good. Am I wrong?
Pretty good, keep up the hard work dude. My squat is pretty weak, compared to my bench. So starting next week I'm gonna do the 5x5 routine for my deadlifts and squats.
Gotta love squats!
19, 195lbs 6' tall, lifting for a year and a half
Maxed at 305 a month and a half ago, currently repping 245x7
I just started taking creatine again so I expect to make some nice gains, goal is to max at 330 this summer and 350 this winter.
Weird, because I have read that hack squats are pretty hard on the knees, and that squats are perfectly fine as long as you have good form. I would love to do hack squats, when I go home this summer and lift at the 24 hour fitness, I'll be doing leg press and hack squats after squats. :dance2:
Exellent info everyone. 6 months from now I'm sure my squat and deadlift will be much stronger, but for some reason my bench is gaining just as quick! :mix: :D
I would do hack squats and/or leg press after squats, my but gym doesn't have any of those machines. I lift at the gym at my...
Thanks for the info. But I don't understand how it's possible to not train to failure but still gain strength and/or size. By not training to failure, does that mean maybe doing 1 less rep than possibe if you went to failure? How do you determine how many reps to do when NOT training to...
Nice job man, getting those DBs up for shoulder presses is a PITA, I'm up to 80s and I barely can get them up into starting position.
245x8 for close grip bench? You close grip as much as I bench for regular grip. :o :D
Thanks guys.
I definately work hard on squats and deadlifts though!!! I'm telling you, I do those until I can't stand up. I didn't start squating/deadlifting until about 7 months ago, but I've benched on and off for the last few years and when I started lifting weights 18 months ago, that...
Thanks Lee. I'm pretty sure I get enough protein. I drink a gallon of milk day (150g protein), drink at least 2 N-Large 2 shakes per day (100g protein), plus all the other food I eat, such as chicken breasts or steaks. I think I get enough calories, because I'm gaining some decent mass. But...
First off let me say I'm not one of those guys who only works on their biceps and chest. I'm 6', 192lbs, almost 19 years old. Been lifting for almost a year and a half.
My routine is like this:
Monday-Back/Biceps
Wednesdasy-Legs/Shoulders
Friday-Chest/Triceps
My arms don't seem to be...
I agree with ThePizmo! A little over a year ago I was 155 at 6' tall, and now I'm 192 at 6'. I eat ANYTHING I can get my hands on. It's gross, I've eating fastfood up to 6 days in a week here at college but I'm putting lean mass on. If you have a fast metabolism, don't hesitate to eat...
The thing I don't like is that he was drinking Sprite while lifting weights. ;)
That weight he was squatting was pretty good, but we don't get to see enough to know if he goes parallel. Oh well. :bawling:
From the research I've done, it takes up to a month for the creatine levels to drop back to normal after you stop use of creatine. That's why I take a couple months off, so that the creatine levels in my muscles drop to natural levels. If you stop taking it for a week, do you guys even notice...
