Then why can I hit 600lb singles but have the calves of a 12 year old girl?

You need to rise on your toes like Serge Reding did to benefit :)

Get up on your toes when you lockout, and hold it for a few secs. Put the combined weight of the barbell and your body to work

:FRlol: I hear ya man. I can deadlift a fair amount of weight, and I then feel good about myself until I look in the mirror, and see that I still look like Im riding an ostrich! :( I will have calves someday, oh yes I will...
 
A little off topic. Maybe try bicycling for calves. I have huge freaken calves. I mean they're monstrous compared to everyone else at the gym. They're large in size, but lack the definition body builders have, but they're huge. I used to ride my bike to school every day from 6th-12th grade. Then ride my bike around town with friends. I'm sure this is what gave me these calves because I don't really do any other calf type exercises.

Does your dad have large calves? Genetics plays a big part I think in calf size
