Ive been getting weird txt messages from random emails that say "hey (insert name here, its differnet every time) check out this cool webpage."

I don't care what percentage. Just like everyone else here I just care about my pc. And I am far from being a computer god, I just know to keep my antivirus software up to date and run scans everyonce and a while.

Like its really that hard to build a computer. Damn just buy a bunch of pieces and stick them in the case close the case, push the button, open the dvd, put in the OS, answer some questions, and wham new pc...

I build my own. Not really very hard and you can set them up for specifically want you want them to do.
My last build I got a nice antec case and it is almost silent. You won't get that buying a Dell.

I'm not saying it's not doable, but you have far fewer ways to hack into a mac.

Mac sales are increasing and some time down the road the hackers will go after the Macs. Right now the hackers want to hack people with money not a bunch of broke ass hippies. LOL.

Virtually anything is theoretically hackable. And expensive is a relative term.
All things considered, macs are more secure than their windows counterparts but the system itself is somewhat more expensive.

What information is know about this virus?
Generally you have to do more then open an email to get infected. You would have to double click something executable or launch some macro (Microsoft Office applications generally have a macro language in the background of the app that can allow for execution of certain items)
Even Microsoft Office applications are patched for security concerns such as this , so I'm just curious to know the details about exactly how this virus spreads

This is a situation when an email has an attachment. When you double click the attachment , some malicious code is run at that time which installs a backdoor on your computer. At this point your computer is probably unrecoverable. Simply don't double click attachments from people you don't know as a general rule
