Xbox 360 owners did the new update kill your consoles??

Leave it up to MS to fuck shit up on a grand scale.

They released a MANDATORY software update that has actually caused hardware failure and RROD.

I've had mine for less than 9 months never a problem with it what so ever.

Downloaded the MANDATORY update and turned it back on and within 5 mins RROD.

This may just push me over to get a PS3.

My theory with microsoft products is don't update them. Just enjoy what little time you have with them until they die.

Then go buy a Mac.

Apple Doesnt make video game consoles.

Plus this is a FORCED update...you have to do it.

I've never been on-line with mine, no updates done, year and a half old and never a problem. I've never met anyone that doesn't do Xbox Live and had the RROD.

Yeah I seriously don't know how the 360 is so popular seeing as how it's been the most defective console in the history of the industry by far. The Xbox? Great console, better than PS2. The 360? A rush job with overrated games. People can cite the "zomg!! games" and Xbox Live all they want but at this point those aren't even really advantages anymore. What is there, Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Gears? Most of the good 360 games have a superior version on the PC. The only thing keeping them in the fray is a massive marketing team. The quality sure ain't there. Serves 'em right for getting into the console industry to "crush Sony". Yeah forget quality and innovation MS, just get the jump on Sony to have another monopoly and release half-ass products thereafter until enough people bitch.

Hey Microsoft, why don't you start putting a serious effort into the PC gaming segment....you know....what you're known for....PC software?
Apparently their personal vendetta is more important than customer satisfaction.

They say they're the king of digital distribution and shrug off BluRay....well if that was the case why do they have such a broad range of crap titles on XBL. Not to mention they cap their file size limit at 350 MB whereas on PSN there are downloads as big as 9 GIGS so far.

Yes I want to see MS bite it in this console generation because they deserve to. They're boasting way too much for all the self-imposed issues they've had. They need a big slice of humble pie before they start planning their next console.

My xbox sounds like the space shuttle launching off, when I turn it on. I can hear it upstairs, when it's on downstairs. Oh, it updated fine. I bought it a few weeks after the release and it's been running strong.

That's what a lot of people are saying at 1st...then it happens.

I'm pretty pissed about this forced update bricking my xbox....I'm seriously thinking about trading it(when I get it back fixed) in for a PS3.

I think this is going to be the final nail in the coffin for the xbox.....hardware failures in the very beginning.... maybe...but a forced software update bricking your console??? unacceptable.

I think this will be what will kick start the PS3 sales this christmas and the xbox 360 will be abandoned.

Still, if I had to pick between sony and microsoft coming out of this economic crunch, I'll go with microsoft. Either one will be second to nintendo. The next nintendo machine will be so well funded it's ridiculous. I'm amazed that even the DS is beating the shit out of the 360 and especially the ps3. By the time the Ps3 becomes affordable we'll see nintendo and microsofts new machine.
