ELITE MENTOR

conflicts dammit.

company president is in town and wants to take me out to dinner to discuss a few things (good things).

I forgot that it's election day. I really don't want to miss voting and my office is 35 minutes away from my house (without traffic), so i can't do it at lunchtime.

AND... it's my son's last probation meeting. He did his community service, passed every drug test and his PO said that he would reduce the probation time to 6 months if it was all completed and then his record gets completely wiped clean. That meeting is at 5:30 and my hubby will be out of town.

grrrrr.
maybe the company president will be willing to have dinner wed. instead.

why does everything happen at once?

I can schedule it for you:

1) Go to work
2) Give your boss an early "dinner" (quickie)
3) Zip your son to his meeting
4) Swing through the polling place on your way home

You gotta be kidding me they put you on probation for that?

oh, it's more interesting.
him and 4 friends were checking out an abandoned, boarded up building in the middle of the woods. The road to it is not paved, if that's any indication of it's remoteness.

They drove up, looked in and cops pulled up and grabbed them and slammed them down to the ground. The boys ranged in age from 15 to 17.

They took them into the station and none of them had drugs on them, no alcohol, and were all very respectful. Enough for the cops to tell the parents to go easy on them because they were all very polite and well mannered and scared.

a week later we get a notice to appear in court on charges of burglary, and a lawyer is mandatory.

We shared a lawyer with another family. the DA said this is not the case of the year and felt they were punished enough, being that they didn't take anything or do any damage.
SO the judge reduced it to tresspassing, which came with 1 year probation, 30 hours of community service, random drug tests, AND a no contact order between them (all best friends). Our lawyer argued that if anyone of their individual friends was safe from mischief, it was these boys who were being watched, but the judge was strict. He did say that as long as they completed the order, their record would be wiped clean, even of anything juvenile. It would look like nothing had ever happened.

The Probation officer assigned to all of them said it was bullshit and told us that as soon as he completes his community service, he's ending the probation early. so that happens tuesday. :)

lol, it's just dinner, although my boss is hot. i wouldn't go there, ever.

I can't get home by 5:30 to take my son unless I leave work at 4:45. that's an awfully early dinner. i'll just make dinner on wed. i hope.

I would explain that you feel it is important that you vote in this big decision and see if possible you can either reschedule to dinner to wednesday or possibly allow you to leave work earlier to allow you time to vote before the meeting for your son and the boss' dinner. Or you could invite your boss to stand in the poll lines with you, oh the joys I do not look forward to!
