Has your opinion of people filing for BK changed?

No change...I still view the majority of them as irresponsible twits who lived beyond their means on credit.

+1...

Then they have an attitude about not qualifying for any loans after the BK....

I'm feeling bad for the people that actually need to because of rough circumstances that can't because of all of the overspending douchebags. I feel kind of bad too for the people that work and worked in real estate that were living well but still within their means that have lost everything and are completely fucked.

I wonder why they call it BK and not BR...maybe the K is more intimidating. Anyways that's a great way of helping someone get back on their feet from BK...deny them employment! Excellent strategy Financial America!!

then they wonder how a person ended up filing bankruptcy... sometimes a life altering situation comes along and your situation is completely changed and all off a sudden your living beyond your mean but not by your fault. what if you were in a huge car accident that was your fault but unintended and now your completely disabled but your disability payments arent enough?

some people are short sighted sometimes.....

Thats how the credit card companies set the system up tho. I would say victims, not twits.

Yeah, but so many people lived and live waaay beyond their means on credit. I have a number of friends that were making from $200-500K/ yr for the last 10 years. They had everything, cars, boats, houses, etc., but owned nothing. They're struggling like crazy now and a few have lost everything.

I will just say that I have more compassion for people in tough financial situations. Many homes in forclosure in our neighborhood. It's just sad.

My kid's school just sent home a fundraiser project. They're supposed to sell a box of 10 icky chocolates around the neighborhood, ect for like $20 each. There's no way I'm gonna let them do that when I know what kind of hardships some of my neighbors and friends are facing right now. I'm just gonna write a check to the school instead.

The whole economy is based on credit. If your not in debt your not part of the norm.

You can put me down as one that AMEX just fucked. First the drop cut all my available credit down to about $200 and then they send me a letter telling me this month I can earn double rewards points?

Kinda a mixed message dont ya think. Almost setting me up to go over limit and get caught up in over limit fees and all that shit.

Oh! So, you know my friends? Sounds like my development.

Yeah because I may be there soon! :-(
